Since i cannot find a clean E36 for sale. I am contemplating buying a 2004 E46 318i Individual sportspack.

I found one on gum with 149k on the clock, black with tan leather(perfect combo).The seller wants 85k for the car. i dont have pics, he removed the ad from gum

according to my mac, there is a few problems with this model:

Valve Tronics
Lower control arm/ bushes
Oil consumption -top up every 1000kms
timing chain
(please correct or add more faults)

please can i have your guys opinion on this car as a daily driver , ,fuel consumption,maintenance and costs to repair?

Thanks in advance:thumbs::ty:

There's one more problem, the price.:thumbdo:
All BMW e36 and e46 has the lower control arm bush problem. They need to be replaced every 80k - 100k km's.

149000 km in 8 years - a bit high . price fair if extras on the car .
IMHO if you can get to R85K ,look for a 6-cylinder e46 , running costs are not much higher than the 4- cylinder models .
you may get a 325i for similar money , a 330i 2000 or 2001 with similar kilos .
Good luck , look and test drive .
