E39 Window Mechanism Failure

NOW... LR door mechanism broke
Just opened the door, nylon pulleys are damaged and the "clip" running on the track is not holding the little pin that is in the cable.

I need to fix both LR and driver side door. Both making the same terrible creaking noise...
Managed to get the cable back on the pulley and window to top, holding the clip with a cable tie.
Switch disconnected

Any advice or contacts?
Can one use the guys in Ring-road Pinelands?

Leaving for Angola on Friday coming and need to get this fixed ASAP.

Thanks for the input.

All over today, driving after phoning, only to find the units are either incorrect or even worse for wear...

Will try again tomorrow.

Will the 530d's units fit even though it looks different?

i can help you with parts, give me a call tomorrow morning 078 945 51 52

btw, one of the reasons you are picking up differences, october 2000 and later(facelift) e39's had revised window mechanisms, the pre-facelift window mechs give issues, the facelift ones dont.

1st prize would be to retrofit facelifts. but you'll struggle to find.

i should be able to help you with a set froma 1996 540i. should be straight bold on.

pm me and i''ll reply with my numnber
cheers

Thanks a lot, I sincerely appreciate the input and effort.
I saw your post after I have been to Bruce's in Claremont.
They replaced the rear with a facelift unit according to them.
That is why (they say) it is now reverse on my buttons.

The front was replaced with a new one, but it is seriously struggling to close, I think the rubbers were refitted incorrectly.
To make things worse, they sprayed something on the rubbers to help, but this has become very, very sticky.

Will have to try and fix this.

Update!

Opened the door up just after above post, re-aligned rubbers and cleaned off the sticky stuff..
Since then, working without a problem.
