E39 Performance Chip Installers?

Just want to find out who knows of any1 who can do the performance chip on my E39 528i, in the JHB South area?

Any1 hav any1 they can suggest and/or have good recommendations about?

What sort of performance chip are you looking for? Have you considered a reflash instead?

Isn't the E39 EPROM? So no flash without removing the ECU?

The E39 can be flashed via obd, if you have the right tools.

We did a E39 540i this month via OBD.

To the OP, a flash is definitely the way to go on these car as mentioned. Basically it involves writing to the ECU directly - this provides maximum control and the best possible end result for tuning.

The estimated gains on the E39 540i would have been around 15-20kw and torque around 30-40NM. Also, there is a noticeable improvement in throttle response too. On the E39 we flashed, we didn't dyno the car before and after. Owner was happy with the gains after driving the car :thumbs:

On a 528i, the gains would obviously not be as substantial as the 540i though. We would be looking at 8-12KW more and torque of about 20-30NM on it.

On older cars, we generally tune them more for better economy, as this is what most clients request on the older models. Also, not everyone looks at the numbers or gains - if they feel a good enough improvement, then they are more than satisfied.
