E39 Brake bleeding

Do anyone know if you can DIY replacing the flexible break hoses and then bleed the system. Is there a "trick" to bleeding the ABS brakes, or is it just straight forward? Do I need specialized equipment?

Dude,

Be very careful here.

What you do not want to do under any conditions is get air into the ABS.

You also want to look into pressure bleeding, which is the correct way to do it (actually pumping fluid through the system)

If you get air into the ABS, you will need to do a computer bleed (can help you if you need)

If the cost of the pressure bleeder is too much, rather have this profesionally done. Dave from CBF, or anybody else.

Im not saying you cant do it, and if your very careful not to get air into the ABS, you should be ok, but a bit risky seeing though you are replacing lines.
