E39 525i Individual

Hi Guys...

I have always admired the shape of the E39, was always a "maybe one day" kinda car.... Ideally I would have loved a 530d, but they are really hard to find in good condition :fencelook:

Now importantly, I wasn't actually looking at buying one right now, and then a mate of mine advertised his parent's car and I was hooked! It had been in the family for 12 years and is very well looked after...

There are a few small issues to work on, but that's what makes it fun.

Ok, I'm intrigued :fencelook:

First update is a small but expensive one, the car had mismatched tyres which are a big problem for me, even worse was that the front tyres were Dunflop SP7000.

Got a good deal on a set of Falkens, in the correct size. Happy with them so far, car even looks better.

Yes when my folks got the car in '07 it was missing.

@Kyle my folks were toying with selling it in 2011/2012 and obviously this gent looked at it.

Great that's the correct size. I have the same sizes on my car.

Another small update,

Having driven a car with LED headlight for a while now, I forgot how bad old school halogen lights are :fencelook:

Fetched the car at night and pretty much drove blind all the way home, relying on the lights from other cars from time to time :roflol:

So it was time for an upgrade.. Stopped by Jabsport on Saturday and he got to work.

> LED fog light bulbs
> HID headlights (could not get LEDs to work in the aftermarket bulb holder)


Happy with the outcome, gives the old girl a bit of a facelift...

Then it was obviously time for the cleaning to begin!

Started with the interior since the weather on Saturday was horrible, the car was relatively clean and well kept... However from experience, I could tell that there was a massive difference to be made. I will get the carpets shampooed soon.

Not many before shots but you get the idea..

I went for a mild clean here because of the age of the components, but happy with the outcome.

The next day I tackled the exterior, this was just given a good wash with some spray wax to finish it off, I'll give her a proper and well needed detail when I have some time.
