e39-525i ABS Control Module Advice

Hi there everyone: I need some advice about a ABS ECU Module that is apparently causing my ABS and Traction Control lights to come on. The mechanic I took it to concluded that the ABS Module needs to be replaced, but it will set me back R8000! Now I'm a student and don't have that kind of cash on me, but I do know the Bosch unit that makes up the ABS module can have bad soldering, and can be fixed in many cases, so here is my question: does anyone know of a place in SA that I can send the module to to have checked out, and possibly repaired: I know there are a few places in England and the States, but I don't know of any here in SA.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi, not sure if you managed to get this problem fixed but i have the same issue. i found a place in Cape town called Combined Electronics in Gardens that specialises in the repair of theses units. the guy's name is Henry and the repair will set you back about 3k.

A Friend of mine went to Combined Electronics and Henry sorted him out. Cost him over R4k and that was more than 3 years ago. They are however, to my knowledge, the only ones in SA that can fix the abs control module. Think he mentioned that they have a branch in Gauteng. The control module of my friends car was beyond repair and Henry sorced a second hand one that he fixed. Henry did fix the original c/m but when Henry took it for a test drive, it packed up again. The second hand one was allright after Henry did his stuff on it. Friend shortly afterwards traded the car so cannot say how long the repair lasted. Was a 2003 E39 525i auto btw.

Not sure if you are aware of Martins Autosport in Selby Johannesburg

Joao is a master BMW Mechanic and those modules are repairable by him.
I had my e36 ABS repaired some time ago for R1500.
