Hey Guys,

Need some help here, my moms e36 passenger window dropped forward. I thought i knew the cause, normaly its the square plastic slider clips that break. Easy enough to fix, and cheap parts.

But i pulled the door panel off lastnight quick to confirm... :censored:

Not either of the 2 square plastic clips.... the round runner that goes into the diagonal guide.

I cant find anything through search.. so i come to you for HELP!

I have included a link to a pic that will show which part i am refering to.
I really hope there is a solution/mod other than buying a whole new scissor arm assembly !

OK.. here goes....

In the pic below.. the traditional culprits ( as i have heard ) are the 2 square clips on the arms that are at at an angle pointing down ^ if we compare to a clock face... at arms at 8 and 4.

the clip that has failed in my case is the arm at 9 o clock.
It is a round clip that runs inside that channel. I have the outside of the clip that was left in the channel. Nothing like the square ones you can remove. Seems to be riveted in place.

Some advice will be vey much appreciated. Need to get moms car back in action for monday when she goes back to work.

Cheers Lads !

Went to Stealer and was informed that the runner clip i need is a permanent part attached to the arm.... SO.. R1700 for a new regulator.

On the up side, found out on sunday that my new neighbour owns a scrap yard round the corner from my factory :excited::excited:
had a chat to him and he will sort me with a complete regulator & motor for R600.

Now that is sorted.. i am off to his yard to go and pick off some choice parts from 3 e46's that were written off. Lets hope one of them has a set of individual bumpers still in tact :)

Cheers

That white plastic wheel has a stud pressed through it to the steel on the other side. I grinded the back end of the pressed/flattened piece away and knocked it out with a punch, then I found some washers the right size and fitted them to the stud, I then tacked the stud back to the steel.
