I wish that was mine, but I can't complain, I've got some custom real leather suede wrap on all my trimmings... :pimp:

Not a problem:

Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-P400UB
Amps: Infinity 4x100 RMS amp for splits and Lanzar optidrive OPTI2000D for my sub
Sub: Jbl GTI mkII 12"
Front splits: Infinity Kappa Perfect 5.1
Rear: Lanzar Optidrive OPTI62 coaxials
I think 2 gauge power cables to the amps, and oxygen free RCA's of awesomeness.
Lanzar 1 farad cap.

I think thats all, i cant remember.

Is this what you bought? I would have gone with the DEH-P400UB

A friend bought it and i bought the DEH-P700UB at the same time for the same price. Does your's have a blue lcd or white?

Mine has blue LCD, i thought about getting the DEH-P700UB, but didnt. I dont really like the head unit too much, but for the price, it was the most versatile. It is a good head unit, but i would like to get a really nice Alpine.

EDIT: It seems i have the DEH-P4050UB. Not sure on the actual difference though.

Hi Jakes

I have a E36 318is as well and also struggled to get the bass in the car, but a friend of mine has found a solution, its the box that makes the whole difference and is called a slot port box.

I have one in my E36 and TLvivo has one in his E46 and the sound is ten times better than a normal box. Both of us are still using the old Subs we had in previous boxes,

my setup is as follows:

JVC DVD Head unit
Standard speakers in the front - connected to the deck
6 x 9's installed in the back - connected to the deck
JBL 12" SVC - Connected to a Starsound Digital 1500w Monoblock

Total spent, R3500 or thereabout and i have decent bass in the car. Its still not as loud as it would be in a hatch, but compared to all previous setups that i had and that i have seen, there is more than enough bass.

heres a pic of the box, i can hook you up if you want one, (please mind the car, its was dirty that day :) )

I agree. A slot port box does the trick.
I've tried many boxes in my E46, sealed, normal port, bandpass but this one works the best. the only downside is that this box ia much bigger that a sealed box due to the port size.

Good to hear that other guys have heard of it as well. the guy that builds the boxes for me, actually builds it to spec of the car/sub. he made TlVivo's a bit smaller for the E46 and it still has decent bass.

Hi Dave, where's this guy from?
I wouldn't mind having a smaller slot ported box. Mine is huge. I think it's an off the shelf one.

he is in Lenasia South in Johannesburg. a little far from the WP.

He actually makes boxes for auto style and a good few sound shops, averages about 50 to 100 boxes a week.
