Lmao.... She says I need something to do over weekends...... I suggested a girlfriend ..... But that didn't go well....... If I had the space I'd strip out the entire car sand it down and respay it..... But if I have it painted I'll stick to the original color..... Hate knowing somewhere there is a place where someone will see the original color.... How difficult is it changing the head gasket? Any special tools and things?

look if you want to do it..its your choice..this car could fund something a bit more special..i would even purchase a slightly accident damaged 330i & fix that...i would do it if it were a shadowline..or 2002..or //M535i or 745i you know what i mean...why not choose your project instead of it choosing you....your choice though...youll get pleasure out of it either way

Sell it... not worth the money to fix it up clean. E36 are a dime a dozen and then they are in good nick. You can pick them in better condition for 45k.

Track toy or buy a cleaner , running car and then throw money at that..

My brothers 96 325 is almost mint and all OEM and he couldnt get 40k for it!!

We kept it and now use it as a spare car as we both have e90 and other cars to drive..

I know the feeling about wanting to respray a different coulour but really wouldnt recommend it.
And doubt you would need any special tools to strip the head.

It refers to an exterior blackout trim package found on most 80s and 90s era BMWs, but most people locally use it to reference a specific E30 Model

I have seen bad E36s go for R15000 to R20000 , non Running ones around R15 , and really bad ones for R12000 ,

Scrap yards don't pay much for cars either , especially an E36 . Not so much love anywhere for the E36 anywhere.

Yes it starts and drives.... I've been doing some homework and it looks like the head gasket is shot... And the car needs a new clutch....

Well Evin 10k would do it... Half of that would probably go to the outstanding licensing fees....
