Well lots of work ahead brother, seeing it first hand was an eye sore but at least you'll sort her out and maybe it will join us for some track days later this year if the owner is keen

will be awesome when it's done though!

 Cant believe that some one can let a car get like that.

Hope you can fix it Gizmo and that it is worth it for the owner.

i went to look at that car while it was at EA performance & pics are much better looking than what the car was. Car was not anywhere close to being worth R150k

The interior! Who does that to leather man :nonono:

Good thing you are as anal as you are about cars :fencelook:

Oh Giz. An off topic question, would those e46 M clocks fit an E36?

I have just pulled the sump pan off and guess what, stock pistons and rods, there is no copper head gasket either so if compression has been dropped then the pistons would have been decked. Only way to tell is to pull the head but I doubt they have dropped the compression at all.

I see on the original sale thread it says stock pistons and custom rods yet the rods look stock so my guess is they dropped the compression by shortening the rods via custom offset small end bushes. Only way to know for sure is to strip the bottom end and measure the custom rod to a standard one.

So it seems this car was EA Performance's personal car before it was sold on to someone else...

I have finished with the new oil cooler lines, braided hose with FTF fittings. Thread tapped the oil filter housing for a new turbo oil line and for the oil cooler lines, don't mind the oil cooler mounting bolts and wing nuts, they are temporary. Also got some electric VDO gauges to replace the cheap and dangerous Autostyle mechanical fuel pressure gauge and boost gauge, dangerous because its pumping pressurised fuel into the cabin to the gauge, one small leak and you have fuel spraying all over the interior!

Oh and I found out why I couldn't get the left indicator out, someone broke the locking tab and then glued it to the headlight!!!

There is a few mm clearance between the lines and the intercooler, anywhere that the lines will touch anything else I will wrap with silicon tubing to stop friction.
I am building this car as if it were my own, no half measures anywhere!!!

Really like the look of the blue anodized Excel Dumpvalve as well as the all the blue and red couplings....

Not sure what the owner is after in terms of the dumpvalve. In my past experience, if the trumpet of the dumpvalve faces down and towards the ground , the sound is amplified off the road, if its positioned into the engine bay its gets muffled...
