E36 M3 Guru's help? (production dates)

There were 748 South African spec M3’s built (assembled) from September 1993 until May 1994 in South Africa from Semi Knocked-Down kits (SKD). After the local built SKD M3’s were discontinued in May 1994, BMW SA started to import the German built M3 coupés from June 1994 until about mid 1995.

Production Versions (3.0lt)
BF92: European-spec S50 B30 coupe (RHD), 03/93 through 07/95
BF98: South African-spec S50 B30 coupe (RHD), 09/93 through 05/94
BJ92: European-spec S50 B30 convertible (RHD), 09/94 through 08/95

Is this above information correct?

Does anyone know the exact number of imports that BMW brought to SA?
Coupes, Saloons and Convertibles?
And what were the production dates locally?

On a side note for example- a 1996 E36 M3 coupe is technically late 1995 model that has just been registered in 1996?
did you get E36 M3 2 doors made in 1996?

I am by no means a guru....
But I do think there were e36 coupe's made in 96, these came out with twin airbags and the facelift front valence and bigger kidney grills

Hey bud, from what I know, there were still cars brought in in early '96, as said above with the twin airbags. We never received the convertible here, a couple have been imported from the UK by individual people, but we never officialy got them.:thumbs:

BF92 (3.0l M3 Right hand drive), last production date was 08/95.
(Mine is 06/95 btw)

Thereafter production changed to BG92(3.2l M3)

So, there are coupe M3's produced in 1996, but they are 3.2l ones, and were not brought to SA.

The '1996' M3's in SA are 1995 registered in 1996..... Get the VIN numbers, and enter them in Realoem.com to confirm

That's what I thought, but still does anyone have ideas of numbers imported by BMW locally?

SA sedan (RHD): 168 produced from Complete Knock Down (CKD) kits from 11/96 through 04/97, 532 produced as complete cars from 04/97 through 10/98

2 Door Coupe (3.0lt)
ECE coupe (RHD): 3,162 produced from 03/93 through 07/95
SA coupe (RHD): 748 produced (assembled from SKD kits) from 09/93 through 05/94

From the 3,162 Euro spec coupes produced, how many came to SA?
