E36 M3 exhaust recommendations

@ Rick: Agreed dude - had the CDA kit on for about 2 weeks until I could source a stock airbox that hadn't been butchered. (The one I got with the car had most of the bottom cut out by the previous owner, letting loads of hot engine air in when the car was stationary) - fitting the CDA was purely an exercise in seeing how well one could imitate the CSL intake roar with an aftermarket carbon intake, as I was actually toying with the idea of getting a full CSL-style carbon intake plenum sometime down the line... but alas, it was not to be.

@ gconry18 --- Dude... WTF? I was answering the B16A Honda dude's question, and referencing power vs weight vs aerodynamic drag for the sake of comparison..

Never once did I claim to be dragging the M3, and not one single time did I claim it to be slow and wanting it to rev to 9K RPM. If anything, I was busy returning the car as close to stock as possible, and pulling off that horrible sounding exhaust to try and fit something more civilized and closely related to stock... but I guess we obviously weren't reading the the same threads.

Poor show of form dude - you mis-read and misinterpret something, then launch a scathing attack based on that.. What's the matter, is mommy not giving you your happy pills in the morning?

I wasnt talking about only you. I was talking about a few forum members and some previous threads.

And apologies as well, I did read through the thread again and I believe my post was meant to be for B16. Got mixed up there.

Dont be so quick with the insults btw, its not nice.

Not nice? Lol - seriously dude - you start off with a snotty comment about how you "don't think I should have an M3 at this stage in my life", because you misread what I said, and then you want to tell me how insults aren't nice?

I've worked my tail off for the cars and bikes I've had/have boet - which pretty much entitles me to do whatever I please with them. If I wanted to drag race an M3, it'd be entirely my prerogative to do so - and if the car wasn't quick enough for me, it'd entirely be within my rights to make it quicker.

Not that my M3 was ever destined to be a straightline racer - I've got my GTi 16V for that.

But there I am, working and spending my own hard-earned money on rescuing an M3 that's been pulled through someone's ass after a very hot curry crap, and I have to take judgement from a forum member with a 325i pictured in a signature mod list that reads like an issue of speed and sound, and who doesn't seem to read properly.

How would you react if you were in my shoes?

Different strokes for different folks - some people really do buy M5's and M3's just to go race them in a straight line in drag runs and top-end runs... Hell, Rob Green's turning an E36 M3 into a 400 kph missile dedicated to straightline warfare...

While you might not like those facts, doesn't mean it's wrong in the greater scheme of things - it's what people choose to do with their money - try and show a bit of empathy and understanding.

Apologies to you and everyone here if that was "insulting", but I don't particularly enjoy having my work and efforts insulted on a generalized judgemental statement.

Okay, fair enough.. quoting what I said when saying that pretty much points towards it being directed to me, but okay, apologies from my side then. Misunderstanding.

George - another prime example - he mods the hell out of his 335i to go fast in a straight line - and it's entirely his right to, because it's his car... well, actually he bought that one for the wife

But nonetheless, let people do what they want with their cars dude - it's not your call to make.
