e36 M3 3.2 idle higher than usual

Hi Guys.

I think I might a problem with my m3. The idle normally sits just below 1000rpm but recently I have notice that if I take it for a drive, long or short the idle goes to 1000rpm. It doesn't happen all the time just sometimes hot or cold. And a tap on the throttle solves this problem, the idle is fine once more. Is this a cause for concern or am I being paranoid?

The car is decat and the timing has been advanced. But these were done in November last year and the idle is gone funny only recently.

Any ideas?

Ok guys I sprayed it with Q20. Problem seems to be gone. But I must admit the accelerator pedal feels very very light now. Its like the car got 10 more kw. Lol. Much much better. Thanks guys.

Thanks

I sprayed it on all the springs of the butterflies and also on the connecting rod. Will take pics today.

when i got my ///M it had been standing for a while and the accelerator wasn't 100%.
i sprayed Q20 on the throttles and checked the cable, cleaned out the full throttle system and it was perfect.

small/ quick maintenance job, with good results.

Hi Guys
Sorry for the delayed action, but I have been busy lately.
Heres the pics. All you need is a friend and a can of Q20 and 10minutes of your time.
>Have your friend jump into the drivers seat and pop the bonnet.
>Get him or her to pump the accelarator pedal. Up front you will be able to see the linkage of the butterflies open and close.
>As your friend is pumping spray the Q20 in the areas shown in the pics.
>Take your friend for a beer and show him that your m3 gained 10 more kw.

These are the areas where you would spray
