e36 M3 3.0 spark plug Q

Hi there,
I would just like to know if these spare shops' info is correct?
When i recently got my M3 it had all its oil services on time, but the rest was way overdue.
When the car was on working temp and idled, it had a slight misfire now and then, but the moment it was above 1500rpm it was smooth all the way to red line. When cold it was also smooth
When I serviced it myself, I saw that the owner’s manual stated the car uses Bosch Y5DDC spark plugs and that was the same ones in the car at that moment.
However, when I went to buy new plugs all the spare shops’ guides stated that the S50b30 used the NGK Platinum DCPR8EVX.
Now that these are fitted, the car still does this slight misfire on idle, but far less than before.
The car is now definitely stronger than before and I think it performs quite well. It can stay with my one friend’s 4dr 3.2 M3 and can drill a 5.7L Lumina SS.
Now to get to the question:
Is the car only better with the new plugs only because the previous ones were in such a bad state but can even still be improved upon?
Are these DCPR8EVX ones the right ones or will it be better with the Y5DDC?
Where does one get these bosch plugs in PTA?
Can it be something else that causes the mis on idle?
Thanks,

Common to get issues when using Bosch plugs...thats why I only use NGK and have put in NGK Iridiums plugs in mine

Bosch Y5DDC is made for BMW. Its even stamped 'BMW Bosch'.
I would guess that they can only be bought at BMW.
Most people swear by only using this plug on the car, maybe others can comment on alternatives...
Have you got the codes read on the car, this can help you diagnose the misfire on idle...

No i have not yet had the codes read.
I Think that is a good idea, then they would also be able to tell me why the ABS light is on.
Something else that i noticed is that the car runs better with the MAF unplugged.:dropjaw:

That might mean that the MAF is going or gone, from my experience.

Yeah 2nded defo need a new MAF that'll be the cause of the running issues....

BMW use NGK and Bosch as OEM but people do experience problems with Bosch-esppecially the super 4's although people may swear by them NGK are a better plug for BMW...even got some guys who work for Bosch yet use NGK in their own cars-to me that says a lot

Y5DC = Double electrode rated ONLY 3.0 M3's... which is what you drive.

Miss on idle = VANOS on its way out.

VANOS units from me on exchange.
