E36 lost key

Hey guys. Posting on behalf of someone else. This is more for confirmation than anything else I suppose.
So this oke has a 318is 1998 model and he lost his only key. Because of year model I'm assuming the car has ews2. Is this correct? And has anyone been able to bypass the key chip? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks a mil fanatics

next time put the key on the biggest key ring trinket possible, then it wont get lost

Drivesure!! Had a key made copied from my existing key for my X5 about 6 weeks ago. Was R1500 and looks like original. Took less than an hour. Not sure when you have no key, assume will take longer and be more than what i paid.
