Update:

It was a long Saturday, we learned a lot, we got frustrated a lot but in the end we got a lot done.

I have to admit, I am the least bit DIY capable which doesn't help but google is a wonderful point of reference but also a pain because its like searching for the symptoms of a rash on google and deciding you have a life threatening disease.

One main point myself and my friends learned this week is that if you have a problem, check the fuse box :roflol::roflol::roflol: irrespective of whether the issue was present before.

We started Saturday off late. But we began by fitting the CCFL Rings. After removing the lights, Preshen cleaned the housings and fitted the rings. Reassembled the housings and then did the connection of the left hand side light housing. We tested and the parks weren't working (They were working before we started). So we tried it on the right side which was working. Very strange we thought. Googled and googled and pottered around for about an hour trying to figure it out and eventually a call to Uncle Peter who confirmed that the right and left hand side have different fuses. Thank fully we had spare fuses and Bam we were back in action. As with anything on this car, the lights are so much easier to take off then they are to put back especially the bolt which sits on the passenger headlight under the air ram. That took another half an hour just one bolt.

The CCFL Eyes are extremely bright. The last picture is just the CCFL and parks on. (Without the Lowbeam or HighBeam) I will take some better pictures during the day.

We then decided to look for the Fuse for the Fogs and Voila, We were back in action. Fogs are sorted.

Next was Interior LED Lights. Footwells, Dome, Cubby and Boot fitted with LED.

Then we fitted a JVC HU, (Bluetooth Streaming & Calling) I was a bit worried that this would not work as well as a parrot but I had already purchased it so I did not really have a choice. We also had a few hiccups here, after all the wiring was done, we realized that the deck was not getting power (again the original deck was working not even an hour before). So thinking we did something wrong, we called around from some help. Until eventually my cousin had the bright spark idea to check the fuse. Fuse changed and BAM, Radio on. I will take some pictures of the HU later this week.
We also added a 12inch Hertz Energy to the Mix with a 500w RMS Monoblock.

After Realizing what a bit job it would be to replace the door handle. We decided to respray the handle with Plastidip. BTW R1 fits into the Keyslot like a glove. Will update with an After later on.

One thing I am really struggling with is trying to put the interior rocker panel (I think that is what they are called back on). If anybody knows how to do this and can assist me or give me some tips, please give me a shout.

Last but not least a very very big thank you to @preshen14 for all the assistance on Saturday. Without you I could have never got all of this done. Appreciate it! And also to uncle Peter, Thank you for pointing us in the right direction with the fuses.

So 24 hours has gone since I fetched her.

I drove around a bit aimlessly trying to see what niggles I could find and the results were.

Control Arm Bushes and inner and outer balljoints are shoelaced so I am wondering whether its worth it to replace these parts or just buy new complete arms. The price difference is a bit steep but the labour is intensive. I will make a decision on this in the week and have the choice installed next Saturday.

Then after a freeway run, I experienced an odd gringing when coming to a halt. I thought that it was the tyres but after a while I realized that it was infact the front brake pads. So immediately took a drive to a buddy's work shop and wheels off. There didn't seem to be anything visably wrong with the pads or disks but I think that the brakes were a very hard compound or something weird. Anywho a quick stop at Goldwagen and I purchased a set of Febi Front Pads, Shell Helix Ultra Fully Synthetic, New Oil Filter, Bonnet Shocks, Coolant, and Brake Fluid. All of this has been fitted and done.

I also managed to find a High End JVC Head Unit with Ipod intergration and Bluetooth with telephony, LED Interior lights and CCFL Angel Eyes. I could not find a HID Kit with Error Cancellers so that will wait.

I will be doing the installation tomorrow on the electronics and try to get the fogs working. Tomorrow will entail a full interior clean with steam clean of the carpets. I will also attempt to clean the rear screen.

I will update with Pics Early next week.

A big thank you again to Moose, I realized now that I forgot to express my gratitude to him in my first post. He made the transaction seamless and answers all one billion of my questions.

Its been so many years since I heard someone say this :roflol:

Those clips on the door sills are a ‘use once’ affair. You will need to buy new clips to fit them back. It was a few rands when I bought them...

You welcome bru.

We did everything right the first time but blown fuses made us doubt ourselves. :roflol:

But hey... We got the job done. If only time was on our side we could have done it much much better. However, The car is looking lovely and sounding much better with the aftermarket deck :blowheart: ...

Perfect weekender... What a styler...

Stuff to still sort out:
* I think the guibo needs replacing - she kinda just follows the road at higher speeds.
* The rear screen oxidization, I just haven't gotten around to tackling.
* interior trim, new OEM trim sitting in the cupboard. I haven't had time to change this out.
* Find a drivers side door handle/mechanism :roflol: flew off at high speed on the freeway

there is really not much left to do but its finding the time to get it done.

Thanks for looking:chef:

Car looks great bud, and once you add the final touches... Maybe throw in some clear indicators/rears as well? :blowheart:

Just a question as to why you decided to keep the park lights in addition to the angel eyes? You lose the full effect of the corona rings this way, IMO.

To be honest I never really gave it much thought but now that you mention it, ill make it happen, very simple to do. The car has literally driven 2000kms this year and I don't see her doing much more than another 1000km before year end so After fitting the angels I never really saw them again until the pics.

Nice one Nemonathen, need some nice M3 styled tailpieces on it now :=):

Shot bru. im two minded. If I find OEM then definitely. Not keen on aftermarket, that's what the 7 is for :fencelook:

If I find OEM Pieces or Zorst and the 325i manifold ill do it.

I toyed with the Idea of the M3 kit but so hard to find OEM and when you do, the pricing is ridiculous and the color match will be a 13itc1-1

Im trying to steer clear of spraying anything hence I haven't touched the Small Scratches.

This car is a piece of art, always have and always love these E36 verts.

Nemonathan - I need to come see this pretty girl one day.

P.S. What HID kit you need for the cab, I have a brand new set at home that might be useful for you, bought from Jabba and not used at all.
