E36 Headlight Lenses

Hi Guys.

The headlight lenses on my e36 328i are looking rather sorrowful due stone chips and sand blasting.

I decided that changing the outer lenses is better than changing the whole headlight. Ive come across a company called Mr. Lens that manufactures ''polycarbonate'' lenses for the e36 (the original lens is glass).

Anybody had any experiences with these lenses? How is polycarbonate compared to glass? Is there somewhere where i can get the glass lenses?

Any opinions/advice would be really helpful.

Thanks......

Its fine for standard bulbs but wont take the heat from HID's also when they get scratched then they deflect the light in all directions.

Hey bud, I was in the same boot of replacing them. But got told, after time they fade badly.. so I just went to a place that strips cars and hooked the whole headlamp for R400.. :p:p

There are glass lenses at Autostyle , do not know quality though .polycarbonate lenses are fitted to most new cars , they are reasonably chip resistant but need special cleaning to avoid scratches . The yellowing can be removed through a polishing process , you can buy diy kits , the ammount of labour and time will determine the "newness " of the lenses .
If the lenses clip off why do Bosch not sell them loose - they were the oem suppliers .
