E36 Getrags all the same?

Hi Guys

Ive read some posts that say all e36 gearboxes, except the ZF, are the same and some others who say they are not the same.

Whats the real story? I know the ratios are the same...

Im tired of waiting around for a 325i gearbox and have access to a 318is gearbox for my m50.

Anyone know?
