E36 6 cylinder engine number location

Hi guys

I need help with the location of the engine number on e36 6cyl engines.
The roadworthy place found a number on the block that is 7 digits next to the engine mount, the number on the disc is 8 digits . Is that the correct location of the engine number?

Hi,

number is on the intake side in the middle, just above the bottom of the block, it is on a machined flat surface, some times there are two lines, one is the engine type and then the engine number, it is NOT the moulded number on the block.
