Good Sound Advice above!

Come to one of our BMW Car Club Track Days, so you can see what it’s like, the guys are pretty helpful and can give you further advice!
Next one is the weekend Jol at Phakisa on 9-10 March

There are other series you can look at also. 111 Sports and Saloons is a great one to start with. No matter how fast or how slow you are there is always someone to race with.

Thanks for all the feedback! Really appreciate all the responses!

Phakisa is a bit of a drive - will wait for a round closer to JHB and then I'll definitely come by and have a chat to you guys.

Will update you all when I find the right car

how much does it cost?

Figures that I'm taking out of this is you can get a reasonable mechanically sound base car for around R50k, then you can spend up to an infinite amount on mods :roflol:

But for a decent set up, looks like R50k in mods should set you up alright. Depending on how far you want to take the car. Prioritise getting the car safe, then get seat time and mod as you go on. Get to know the car and don't go big bang unless you have experience racing

Why is there nothing down in the PE area in terms of track day/fun days? In Regional Saloons where I race there are 7 or 8 BMW's and more on the way I believe.

We can almost start our own series as most of the guys here either race BMW or VW's.
