E36 328i supercharger

Once I get a couple of bugs out I am planning to supercharge my car, I do not want an off the line car and handling is very important. I have the aftermarket bushings and lowered the car a little with new shocks and added the rear cross member braces.
I was planning on the Active Autowerks setup unless you know of a better setup. I know about turbos because my son has a 240sx very modified and do not want that type of power band, a straight across extra 100+hp is all I am looking for.
I will also be adding a M3 diff.

97 328i sedan manual.
Added already: header, M3 cam, M50 intake, 3" exhaust, AA chip.

1. you do not have a winning lotto ticket for their stuff
2. stage 1 to stage 900 claims 572 wkw for everything
3.ess is very good even there stage 1 but shipping might kill you
4. aa is very good but more expensive and the shipping might cause heart failure.

turbo is a option you should look into as there are many guys on here that can do the work and can spec a turbo that can give a full rpm gain and most if not all can be sourced locally for a a lot cheaper

its a big decision so good luck

also this might cost over 50k to do and buying a e36 m3 might be an easier solution

Big question is where are you based. If you are up in the highveld, you will need to take into account the 3psi loss up here due to atmospheric pressure.

VF engineering is a well priced kit for the e36 cars.

I agree with Crash on the power loss but take it from us, you better have a big wallet because you will need to do it properly or it will loose it's reliability, age of car is also a factor because with increased power older parts seem to just break. Good luck with project but look at the money you going to spend ,rather sell your baby and bye an older M or something factory boosted....

The car is in mint shape, recently had a leak down and compression test done and all is very good. From what I read the AA kit is $5000.00 plus 8 hrs install ( There is an AA retailer in Montreal close to me). ( I will do more research on the ESS kit ).
When it is complete I am not the type of person to drive the car hard very much.

50K ? My estimates are around 15K with a M3 diff, suspension and dyno tune. $5,000 kit, $1,000 install, $2,500 suspension, $1,000 diff and $600 tune-up plus 50% for taxes and whatever.
If I am missing something let me know...

Makes sense... we in SA, 15k is like 170k for us :hammerhead: so expensive.

I wouldnt go with AA. From what I've been told locally in miami, where they're based. Things have gone downhill from their old days. They also managed to blowup a 20 000$ (US) stroker motor in an e46 m3 racecar on a dyno when tuning it, apparently they just loaded a generic map on.

there is a tune shop in Montreal that I would have the install done at, very good at what they do. VAG Motorsports.
