E36 328i INPA CAN'T ACCESS ALL MODULES

Hi there. I have Inpa and DIS installed working 100% on my E46 320d. On my E36 328i 1995 it is a different story. I can only access the engine and NO other modules. I tried to change the interface within the Ediabas.ini to STD=ADS but still no luck. Should I try a complete fresh install? I am completely out of ideas and google is not much help.

Just to confirm, you need an ADS interface adapter. Which one are you using?

Thats where my thecnical limitations come in. I dont have a a true serial port, so I'm using a eBay usb dcan kline cable wich i used for my e46. Then afterwards i just bought the 20 pin round adapter. Do i need a yrue ads interface?

I have a serial ADS interface you could try, but I'm based in Cape Town. AFAIK E36s only play nice with a proper ADS interface

Thanks for the offer, but I'm in gauteng. My laptop doesn't have a serial port. Usb only. Is any kind of a work around?

Best way would be to find someone selling a cheap old laptop with a serial port.

You need a true ADS interface which works with a PC with serial port.
The adapter cable between the round a square adapter will do nothing if you don't have an ADS interface.

I have bought the 'Tiny ADS' interface off eBay. It works.
Also you get a switchable ADS and OB2 cable of eBay too..
