E36 328i Help please

Howsit guys,

So I bought another beemer last night... its a 97 328i manual.... car needs a few things.... So was hoping someone here could help...

im looking for....

Cluster - my ones from a 318i I think .... I may be wrong but it revs way past the 7 right into the airflow meter thing at the bottom.... hope that makes some sense.... :=):

Steering wheel.... sun damage...

white lights... rear, side markers and front.... oh and fogs

bonnet shocks

rear brake lights don't work... so if anyone knows a fix.... pls let me know

car does not lock from the remote on the key... tried both key... you can lock from the doors....

Sorry for thread hijack but can you send me some pricing on boot shocks for E36 sedan and bonnet shocks for E36 coupe please?

What make are the bonnet shocks?
Can you PM me pricing for the shocks on E36 Coupe? (bonnet and boot)

Globes fused ?...OR globes not fitting correctly in their sockets, thus bad contact....or brake pedal microswitch disconnected/faulty ?

car does not lock from the remote on the key... tried both key... you can lock from the doors....

Your key battery might be flat, or it has simply lost its coding with the cars system,
If it is the coding, then Youtube will show exactly how to re-initialize it...it is an easy DIY...search "BMW Key initializing E36" on youtube

thanks Ralf.... the light on the rear window works when you press brakes just the taillights don't... will check what you suggested....

when I press the key the light does come on ... but will replace the batt and try the initialization.....

So the problems are not so serious
The light clusters at the rear are notorious for loosing connectivity with the globes, so if your window light works, then it means the system is good, and is only related to the globes/earthing etc

If the remote light operates, then no need to go down the very expensive road of a new battery etc, but it probably only needs to be coded with the car
