UPDATE#9
Hey guys so i have some bad news, the e36 backyard project has come to an unfortunate conclusion and will be no more...I know i have been inactive for a long while but i had reached a plato with the car and it became my daily, so no work or mods could be done and about 2 months back i wrote the car off.
SO I'll be rebuilding and entirely new e36 body and ill sending it all the way, pulling out all the stops with the new car!

Oh no, what happened? Sorry to see your hard work lying there in a pile on the floor, gut wrenching. So long as you are OK and did not sustain any injuries, cars can be rebuilt. Sounds like you have the right attitude to see it through!

Yeah dont sweat , rear wheel drive, 6 cylinders and youthful exhuberance usually dont go too well together, but i bet you have a ton more insight into how rear wheel drive cars behave now. Wish you well on your rebuilding efforts.

Damn man, starting reading this build thread today and garnered so much respect for your attitude and hard work - very sorry to see this but hope you are okay. Looking forward to seeing what's next on the new build.

I actually came off it pretty lightly just a few scratches, car rolled twice and landed on its side. Now i know how laundry in a tumble dryer feels 😆

Thx man! Yeah, high power rwd cars, Overconfidence and open diffs dont mix to well😅 im just glad i was on a very quiet road and no-one else was involved or got hurt. Definitely walked away with more respect for my bmw and being really thankful that i walked away unscathed. I actually want to go for advance driving and drifting courses. My new car will be much more track oriented than street and i will be making more power out of the engine.

E36 BACKYARD/GARAGE BUILD UPDATE #10
Damn guys its been a year since i last posted, sorry about that but life happened.
I'm still busy building the car but I've been saving up alot and buying parts and working on the car when i can. So what happened up untill now.....? I'll give you a recap. I bought a new rolling chassis with papers, stripped it to the bone suspension and everything out, put it up into the air on a rotisserie i built myself and went crazy with a grinder and a mig welder removing and fixing rust. XD
I stitch welded the entire body underneath and in the engine bay, welded in reinforcement plates and re-sealed all the seams and rubberized the car underneath.

Afterwards I started reassembly of the car.
First the fuel and brake lines, then the fuel tank. Reinstalled the suspension with new poly bushings, bearings, balljoints and links front and back.
I managed to score an purple tag steering rack and 330i big brakes for a bargain, so thats also in the car. Then finally after all that i started doing some light panel beating and i am still in the process of repainting the car.
Oh an just because i got a full m3 kit because why not😅 M3 front and rear bumper, sideskirts and ltw wing.

So i dry sanded the "new" car down with 220 grit sandpaper to remove all the cracked and chipped paint. Then sprayed the whole car with ms primer and wet sanded the primer flat with 600grit paper. That's about everything that happened until now.
Everything seems easy untill you start doing it yourself, i gained massive respect for all the panel beaters and spray painters,it's not an easy trade to be in and thats coming from a mechanic😂
So what still needs to be done?
-Get the 2k paint and all the consumables that goes with it. (You can guess what the color is gonna be 😆)
- buy new 17" mags (looking for aline wizards)
- buy decent coilovers (currently looking at the fury premium set)
-install wiring, interior, engine and its components
- install itbs and lightweight flywheel (already have, just need to put on)
-retune the car
- get a lsd somewhere and install it.
- Z3 X-brace
- Strut brace front and rear (maby will build myself)
If you have some of these parts send me a dm😉

That's it for now, thank you for reading my essay and id hope to do another update soon as I'm going to be buying the paint this weekend.
