E36 318i Valve Cover Removal

Don't feel like this is really worthy of a full thread but it is driving me insane.

I'm removing the valve cover of my 1994 e36 318i to replace the gaskets (leaking), got all the bolts out pretty easy, except for the last driver side one. The brake lines are blocking the way and can't find a way to get the right clearance (see pic). I'm sure other people have had this problem, is there any way to get it out without disconnecting the brake lines? Just bled them so would like to avoid it.

Is it that bolt in between the gap that I see...

The lines that are there and bend slightly... Squeeze a hand in, fit a socket or a suitable t-bar spanner on, and Bob is your uncle. There are also air con pipes that are aluminium - they also have some give - if you are gentle, no harm may come of it.

If you have a t-bar with a thin/narrow profile stick it in between the V where the pipes taper towards the bolt, and direct the tool towards the bolt head, as long as you dont force it, you should be fine. The pipes and brake lines are forgiving, but dont force it...as my Father always told me..

With force, you can break your finger off in your P@ephol.

Hope it helps....in actual fact, the right tool is important - no special tool, just the right one
