E36 318i Dual to Single Mass Flywheel Conversion

So I'm having to get my clutch replaced on my 94 318i (M42 with AC).
I was hoping to leave the flywheel in to save some cash but my mechanic said thats a bad idea given how bad the clutch is (won't engage or disengage gear while car is running).
:blueCry:
Masterparts quoted me 2k for the clutch but nearly 7k just for the dual mass flywheel (which my car has), which I was not too impressed with.
I've been trying to find resources on a single mass conversion for this car but am struggling. Masterparts said they do not have a single mass flywheel listed for the car, but do have a clutch for a single mass??
My main concern is whether it will be significantly cheaper in the long and short run, if I can convert then I was thinking of buying a second hand flywheel and getting it machined which I know would be a lot cheaper. (I'm a student and this is my first car)

Any info would be appreciated.

e30 325i clutch and flywheel will work, it's single mass.
Sorry for the hijack.

Is this a straight fit or is any machining required.? What about the starter? Should this also be e30 325?
