E36 316i/318i Cylinder head

Hi guys

Please advise if there is another cylinder head that can be straight bolted onto an this car block. (No ECU changes etc)

The head currently on there is an M43 OR M40-timing chain as I'm told. The head is damaged irreparably due to the intake manifold butterfly breaking and falling into the cylinder whilst driving.

I'm really struggling to find an M43 head at a decent price.

Please any help will be appreciated.

e36 316i has a 8 valve head and the 318i has a 16 valve head .

Have you specifically been asking for your cars cylinder head? I've listed the BMW's than ran the M43 engines, so any of these should be a good to retrofit.

When I call, I tell them I'm looking for an M43 cylinder head; only if they ask, I inform them it's for and E36 318 1.8 litre 8v - timing chain.

I've tried all the junkmail and gumtree ads "time wasters".

Wow I have bought complete 318i engines for cheaper than R6500...
BTW your car is a 316i and not a 318i.
316i = 8 valve
318i = 16 valve
