Hey guys.

Been looking like crazy. Need to reprogram key fob. The little red light above gear leave does not come on. Central locking works with key in door... I have checked behind glove box. Under steering wheel. And in passanger side foot well under carpet. I can't find the module.

Even if the moduel was removed. I would find the harness there. But nothing. Tho I did find a pcb type antenna behind the glove box. The cable for that runs under the carpet to the back.

Tried tracing wires from led... failed.

Any ideas.

On my E36 convertible I had the same problem.

Found the problem to be the micro switch on the striker plate, the one on the door post.

These switches wear off in time.

You can do a test 1st by building up the switch with some masking tape, close the door and see what happens.
I've used Pratley steel to build it up and it's still working.

Here's a pic of the micro switch, the piece of tape.

Is your led working? Stupid question I know but......
Led ain't working. Car has the alarm horn in a cage behind driver's side headlamp. Sonic sensor in climate control panel. Chrome switch under bonnet. So I know it has the alarm. .... just driving me mad looking for the moduel.

And it ain't the door switch. It's working fine. Fixed it a while back.

Wires from led and sonic sensor go down the left side of the console. Under the obc control module. And down the left side into a black cable tray. After that I have no clue. Can't trace any further.

Pls guys. Any idea
