E34 steel 15' rim for a spare on a E90?

Hi guys

I have a old E34 15' steel rim laying around in my backyard, I'm thinking of getting a second hand 15' tyre and use the wheel as a spare, as I'm going on holiday in 3 weeks time.
I don't have runflats on, driving around with a bottle of tyre fix.
Does anyone know if the offsets will work on the E90, as I'm too lazy taking a wheel of and test it?

I'll just put the wheel in the Venter if it will work

Stiaan, fit the steel wheel on your car before you do anything like buying an old tyre as it may not fit over the caliper. I am also thinking along those lines as i have some steel wheels off my old E36 318iS (15 inch) that i want to use as spare on my E90 330d. Will try the rims some time. Otherwise we must group buy a set of mags from the For Sale section and split them as i know that one of the Traffic guys here at the test station in Hermanus was looking for a spare wheel. The E46 330i wheels advertised have a different offset, but could probably work as a spare. But if the 15 inch wheel fits then it is a very cheap solution as you only need to get hold of a tyre with the same circumference as the wheels fitted to your car. Probably a 195/65 x 15 or 185/70 x 15

I have my doubts, e34's have fairly aggressive offsets (compared to modern 3er's), and will a 15" wheel even fit over your calipers?

OK, so i tried to fit the steel 15 inch rim over the caliper but would not fit, so for the record, a 15 inch E36 wheel will not work as spare for E90 330d. I was advised to get a can of tyreweld and a kit to fix a puncture and a small compressor and carry that in the car when fitting non-rft's. The run flat indicator will warn you of a pending flat tyre and then you fix it before it disintegrates. Could work!? Any one tried it or running this set up?

Its a pity Silverbird_96kw is in Gauteng, we could have bought his set of 16' E90 rims, at R1500 he wants for it, if we can get 4 guys, its R375 per rim, but to courier here is to expensive :(
