E34 rough idle

So my 540 is giving me crap.

I make it a point to check all vital fluids on the car every weekend.

I discovered I had a intake leak on the ICV, fixed that with silicone for a month until I can take the entire intake off. I see that I still have a leak on the actual TB housing.

Anyway, I checked the clutch fluid for the first time in ages, and noticed that it was empty :nono: (Clutch has been fine, which is why I hardly check it)

I topped it up, and the next morning I had clutch problems, CBF can only see the car on thursday, but a few pumps can get the clutch going, so I guess its just find the leak and bleed.

Today, for no reason what so ever, she died in the parking lot, restarted her, and I see the revs kept on dropping to below 500 and then she dies.

I drove her home, and I could do this by keeping the revs up, she drove with a bit of a miss, worse at low RPM, but keeping her above 3k and she was ok.

Now, I suspect that this could be fuel delivery, as its either fuel or spark, but the clutch thing is just way too much of a co-inky-dink...

Whats the chances that the crank position sensor could be stuffing around due to the clutch issue, does the M60 even have one, I cant recall seeing one..

Will try and get her DIS'd this weekend,

All I can say is good luck. I had that problem when the fuel pump's top cracked open. For the clutch issue on these E34's, I have no knowledge at all.

But seems to me that these E34's all want to go on strike this December, as mine is also packing up from front to back.

Sounds very much the same as what mine did when she popped that blanking cap off. Won't idle and stinks of petrol. Trying to think what the name of that breather pipe was. Think the thread name was something like " I broke the 540" or something like that. I had some pics of the culprit.

So yar.

Problem is because I was a dumb fsck this weekend, I had the air intake off, put it back, and did not tighten down the clamps... how stupid can you get.. Pop it back on, and problems solved

Also bled the clutch quickly and tightened pipes....

So all sorted. 540 still going strong :)
