When I bought the 540i manual the rear windows did not work . As I do not sit in the back it never bothered me.......don't want passengers either .
So today I used the sunny weather to pull the door panels off and check .
Suprise 1 - left back door - pull panel off and connect switch again -window works ... clean and spray with Q20 and replace door panel - everything ok .
suprise 2 - right back door - pull panel off and find the connector not in properly . push connector home and window works !!
So for about 2 hours work everything is working fine . At least my expectations of tracing wires etc and checking voltages was unfound , just shows ...do not always expect the worst
