Hi All,

I have started slowly paying attention to my cars cosmetics, and will be doing a few howto's.

First is, the horrid sagging bumper.

As you can see from the pic above, the bumper hangs at the point of the wheel arches, making it look crap, this is due to broken clips.

To fix this you have to remove the rear bumper which is very easy.

If you pull off the black trim, you will find 2 bolts on either side of the rear bumper, undo those.

Then on the side of the bumper there is another adapter that sits in
their, and is locked in place, using a flat screwdriver will get this out.

Then the whole bumper will just pull out.

Identify what componets are broken, and replace them from BMW..

Here you can see the carrier strip already bolted to the car

Here is what the clip looks like that fits into the side of the bumper

It has slots on it that needs to go over the carrier strip already on the body.

Push the bumper on with all the clips in, and the carrier strips attached to the car.

You will be able to adjust the sides in closer/further by turning the plastic clip as shown here.

Net result should give you a clean looking bumper

Nice job, and piece of mind for you as well.

Looking at the pics, I now remember how deceptively massive the rear bumper is once you get it off the car, much bigger than it looks.
