e30 vin help

hi guys!

i need some advice, maybe someone here can point me in the right direction.

i have an e30 coupe which was a project i bought from my brother before he passed away. we never ever signed paper work, i kept telling him we can sort it out when he gets better.

after he passed i found out that he had never transfered to his name. im not sure if the vehicle is scrapped.

the vin is 7 or 8 numbers long. ive tried a contact at saps to find more information on the car however he couldnt assit and said the vin is too short.

i have a buddy with an e30 2door as well. he too has the same amount of numbers for his vin, his licence disc also onlly has these numbers.

how can i find out the status of the vehicle. i have contacted the company the shell was bought from but i gave up on that, i actually will try them as a last resort.

can anyone point me in the right direction?

My e30 is a chrome bumper '85 and it has a 10 digit vin stamped in the gutter below the windscreen with the first 2 being letters of the alphabet.

mine has the same. i had to remove some paint to find it as the car had a bare shell respray. the problem is when i try to find out anything about the vin im told its too short.

any idea who can help? i contacted someone at saps vis unit as well. no luck

You can try this with the last 7 vin numbers of your E30

It should supply you with the remaining missing vin numbers:rollsmile:
