E30 V8 monster!

I'd like to think I've been caring for the car somewhat. No sudden snipe shifts or any funny business like I use to in the golf. Since the M3 I've been more gentle on the mechanicals... Even the drifting is a non event, just leave it in first.

I hear you though. Will first sort the suspension out and see by how much the grip improves.

strait line grip wont really improve with suspension... you need tires for that, but if the gearbox is weak i would not suggest it...

Oh it Will on this car. That's the main reason why I want to get that done next. The amount of actual grip on the road is weak. In the wet the car is near impossible to drive. The more you accelerate the more the car squats and the less tyre is actually applied.

SLAMMED I don't like

Also took some pics of the setup while I was at it. Brakes seem beefy enough, newish sway bars. Checking the rear out right now...

You bet Cois! You are so the man when it comes to that. I still need to get the 540 back first. It's becoming a real pain that car I'm telling you. But when I have her back you'll be the first to call

I want to see if I can find spring spacers and or stops. Or something of the like. I just want to prevent the car from bottoming out and rubbing the fender for now. Then I don't have to cringe every time I drive her. At least until I have it sorted properly.

the tokico illumina at the back are adjustable and semi decent when they dont blow...

cant really comment on the rest unless you find numbers anr markings...

the swaybar looks like an Ireland engineering bar because of the colour and the red bushes, but its supposed to be adjustable and the one in the pic is not :( it also has a forged end where the IE one has a welded tab...

the springs are red so could be H&R but with no markings they probably not...

try find markings and give me pics of the rear sway ends...

considering the only identifiable part on there is tokico illumina i dont hold high hopes that any of this stuff is salvageable because it will probably be a bargain basket miss match :(

the sways can wait because they probably stiffer than stock...

undo the rear shocks bottoms and feel how much resistance they have should be quite stiff if not they are blown :(

see if you can find marking on the springs will be awesome if they are H&R

This is a huge learning experience for me. Spending lots of late nights trying to find out whats what. I cleaned the springs and couldn't identify any type of writing on them. I'm away this week AGAIN but will hopefully drop the rears after Thursday and have a look. Going to try fit spacers and try adjust the shocks. Also give the E90 springs a go...

its worth a try... if they fit they should be stiffer because they made for a heavier car :)

but im not sure how well they will be matched to the e30 and the dampers

i was under the impression that koni springs were all blue... least mine are :) koni and h&R springs are made in the same factory though so i guess some could be red  but considering the problem i doubt they are ether of them...

Eibach springs are usually red.

H&R vary a lot. Have seen them in blue, silver and brown.

Andy, are yours red or orange? Koenic springs are orange and apparently not that good.
