Oh ya! So happy to find no rust, some minor minor surface rust in the foot well, was literally a steel brush affair to fix. No rust, accident damage or any type of filler on the entire body!. Crazy stuff.

Everything will be sandblasted and then powder coated a tidy black!

Before you say no rust on an e30 be sure to check the battery tray, spare wheel well and the wells at the side of the boot :)

as well as the arches :) that's where mine was rusting & the under section where side sills go

When I got mine, the battery tray was crazy rusted.. took it out & treated it & sprayed it black... but under the tray was still all good :)

I have checked that car for rust everywhere, had both fenders off last weekend looking for issues and there were none. this car looks like it was kept in an owygen chamber.

I will however treat the common areas with red oxide as a precautionary measure.

Thanks Burgy! Will come past tomorrow for a chat dude!

So got some more photo worth work done on the car this weekend, pulled the front bumper and kidney grills out to assess the front end and also to find space for the intercooler. You will notice that the plastic ducting to the brakes is still complete! On a 1985 car! Everything is still mounted in the standard positions, no front end accident damage or rust anywhere!

Then I stripped off the exhaust manifold in preperation for the turbo manifold, low and behold every bolt came of with ease, none stripped or damaged in any way, however when one bolt was taken out coolant leaked from the hole? I believe it was a bolt too long and that caused it to be tightned right into the water jacket. Manifold didnt put up any fight at all.

And lastly sump guard out to be cleaned and powder coated white-theme for the engine bay is matt black and gloss white.

Yes indeed, the further I get into this car the more lucky I feel! Totally accident free and not putting up any fight at all!

This is a total waste of a good body for a drift car ..
The amount of rusted wrecks posing as bodies in the Eastern Cape is ridiculous . Good luck .

you need a rust free body for drifting else you spend all your time trying to repair rust and no time drifting...
