So my son and I had a bit of time to fiddle with his e30 today. The crank position sensor that the seller gave with the car, does not have the same plug and neither is the cord long enough to even reach the socket. Which is situated right under the diagnostic connector. I'm not sure what bmw this sensor is for though.
So I was thinking of fitting this sensor to the E30 but just by extending the wires and using the old sensor plug. Both the plug on the car as well as the sensor has the same colour wires. Yellow and black and a shield/clear wire. You guys think this might work or should we just buy a new sensor?
I'm not even sure what these sensors cost.
