I have collected a fair bit of info on the E24 if you are looking for any info.
I have a blue manual 85 635csi which I am busy restoring - only took 5 years to find and nearly 6 months to negotiate away from it's former owner.
Back end stripped out currently awaiting parts from BMW.
The 628 you have in the pics looks very familiar-if I am right this car belonged to a lady driver in Alberton. The yellow car looks really scary but again looks familiar-may have come from Port Shepstone.
I am looking for the origonal handbook for a 635 if such a thing exists-havent seen one in my quest as yet.

I don't have alot of info regarding the previous owners of my 628. I wouldn't be surprised if it did belong to a lady before i bought it from the gentleman who had it before me.

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on an owners handbook as well.

I have some pics which i will try attach. Also have a cd with a bunch of the info I have collected that you can have - prepped it for a mechanic in Vereeniging that I contacted quite some time back who was into E24, but was unable to meet with. I have researched the cars for around 5 years and during that time I have kept record of what cars have appeared on Autotrader and in recent years Gumtree & junkmail. I have also looked at a number of cars and taken pics to build a history on the cars in SA.

There is a red 1981 635 which was advertised on gumtree recently which I recall having been advertised late last year for 12.5k
It is now advertised for parts if you are looking for parts - if I had the money i would look at it even though it is in Limpopo i think. Nice dished rims and the glass & trim looks good. Autobox is out if I recall correctly. Being an 81 model it has the same dash as your car and the mechanicals will be based on the E12, again what your car is based on. When the E24 bug bit I set my mind on the after 1982 cars that are based on the E28 cars.

For some reason I could only find pics of my car taken by the previous owner, but I will take some when i get the rear suspension parts at the end of this month and reassemble the car.
I am not too sure how to attach the pics as I have tried and got an error regards file type - so I will send this reply then try again separately with pics.

No, not me, sorry. I don't think I'm going to buy this car. It needs a fair amount of work, including a new front windscreen, and the lady won't settle for anything less than 20k.

I would say its proberbly her. Looking to get the price she wants for it i suppose. R20k is not bad if its running OK. Window would be a problem. anyone want to hazrd a guess on how much for a new window?

I have a serious 6 series fetish. And been itching to get one for a while. Out of space at the moment and the missus thinks its ugly

Keeping my eye out for something i like. I would seriously look at importing one from the UK. Reason being I want a manual and a late model.

@ JANDRE sorry man just see this post now. i'm always eying this car everytime i pass it. she told me 20k not neg. thats why i thought i will maybe wait a lil more till my fiver are finish and ask her again. with white alpinas she would looks sweet.

Small update:

The 6 currently. Trying to bleed the brakes, getting a lot of air through. Thinking it might be the brake master cylinder thats leaking.

Again, with some help from Gizmo, i found these rear headrests sitting in a scrapyard. Quite a rare thing to find and got them for one hell of a good price. Ofcourse they are a different colour but they will be recovered when the rest of the interior is done.

Hi guys i am i new member to the forum and very interested in the topic up for discussion i myself is in need of some help. I have a 1981 635csi that was involved in a slight front end prang and cant find spares for the life of me.Can anyone point me in the right direction ??? Ineed:
