I have used consistenly in a B58 and a S55 - No issues.
If you want to really be safe from tank residual water problems, swap out the ethanol for 1 tank with isopropanol every 3-6 months i.e. run 20 % isopropanol instead of 20 % ethanol.

The ethanol price you mention is extremely cheap and below market price. Does your prcing include the 25 L container and do you know the water spec of this ethanol?

Please elaborate on the residual water problems? May be some juicy bits in there that I might need.
Have you changed your fuel filter on the LPFP side at any point ?

You'll see on the petrol cap that you can run e10 mix recommended by BMW. If you have the right tune you can run e30 mix as well max, after e30 your LPFP starts to eat itself inside out. e20 should be perfect.

I have been using ethanol in my 335i(s) N54 since 2007....up to 85%

A 55% mix works well to prevent the winter blues on cold starts.

I also used an eth mix when my car was stock - so long ago. :smilebounce:

Great thing is with all the modern tech/tuning such as the motiv flex fuel kit & the Mhd module the DME will adapt to whatever mix is in the car...no need to change tunes for an eth mix or for pump fuel just fill up and go and the Dme takes care of the tuning.

Ethanol is hygroscopic i.e. it absorbs mositure from the air. if enough moisture is absorbed, eventually water will separate out. Even ehanol stored in plastic drums are prone to absorbing water.

Mr Admin, is it too much to ask of you to be a a bit more constructive?
Exactly which part are you belittling?

@Jive_m135i, your fuel trims will guide you on the max ethanol you will be able t0 run. There should not be a major difference between E20 and E30 and your fuel system is well capable of handling higher amounts of ethanol with respect to corrosion.

Thanks for the advice :D . My main concern is actually putting the LPFP under too much strain, due to the fact that alot more ethanol is sucked in to the fuel system compared to petrol, affecting the LPFP duty cycle and lifespan.
1.What values would indicate the LPFP reaching its maximum flow ito ethanol used?
2. If I am running WMI what values for trim should I be looking for to find the perfect balance of ethanol? If my WMI is too rich my trims go negative, adding distilled water does the trick(FF=40)
I've never really used ethanol before only UCB Racing octane boosters(Napalm for a weaker mix and Thermite for a strong mix), which are ethanol free. With a mix ratio of 5L to 20L these octane boosters give me a Fuel octane of 102-106 RON which is more than enough to run 20 PSI+ boost.
