E12 and classic BMW vins

I'm looking to get some vehicle info. It's e12/8 with the short vin sequence. BMW the Glen couldn't pick it up on their system. They used the last 7 digits which throws out 60's motorcycle. Any ideas?

I’m not sure about vehicle info. But parts for my e30 are normally found under classics platform on the bmw system and they use the full VIN.

Thanks does your e30 have a 17 digit vin or is it shorter?

Hey bud, Im at BMW SA. You can send me the vin and I can see if I can find anything here

try M decoder which lets you input the shorter 7 digit VIN. In the results, it should return the long VIN for the car

For parts info, realoem.com is helpful in finding part numbers, giving indicative pricing (usually with up to +-20% variance) and letting you know if parts are still available from agents.
