E12 518 carb advice

Hi Guys

Looking to buy an E12 518 carbureted model, are these car reliable ? What are the common issues I should look out for motor wise ? Are spares easily available ? And how's the fuel consumption

Carb is likely to be solex and parts are scarce.
Carbs also suffered degradation from our fuel.

Parts easy to get hold.
Consumption is all dependent on your right foot however they were never frugal to start off with

I agree with Alexander, if its for a daily driver I would look for a 518i if you want to stick with a e12 or even go for a 528i.

If its just a sunday drive car and a little project then it will be fine for that. Dont overspend, they are not worth much.
