E 46 Key

My only key for for my 330d do not unlock, lock the car or open the boot. It does actually start the car. On inspection I noticed a missing part on the pc board inside the key. Something to do with the charging of the remote key's battery. I obtained another key and installed the complete little pc board into my key. I then wanted to drive around a little bit to charge the remote battery the car would not start. Took the pc board out and the car starts again. I fit the board with car idling and then switch the car off and immediately start the car again - it starts. I switch it off and it won't start unless I remove the pc board. Does any diamond shape's pc board work on any E46 after programming the key or what would you clever people suggest?:smashScreen:

I went to a crowd in Rosettenville, will look for the name, they made me a copy, I only had one key. Do a search for E46 ignition key replacements, I'm sure the name will come up. They will sort it out.....assuming you are in the JHB area.

the key has 2 parts, a transponder and a remote part. without the transponder part of the key the engine will simply not start.

do a search on the forum, plenty posts explaining in detail..
