Drove a g80 M3 today

Today was the first time I had an upclose look at a nice spec G80 M3 Comp. First up... Pics you see don't do this car justice. The front looks amazing to me.. Aggressive... Modern. All the right carbon bits and wheel spacers finish off the butch stance.

Took it for a short drive. Nothing like my F80 M3 Comp was. This car sounded better (inside anyway) and seemed to have a better "weighty" feel to its power delivery from low down. Car felt hunkered down, solid. Not skittish like the F80. Sounds great on the manual upshifts close to redline. The gearbox is very smooth and seamless. And man... The car felt quick! Caught me off guard first time i stomped on it. Brakes still shuddered after a while though, disappointingly.

But im sold. I want one.

Have no doubt these are immense engineering achievements in terms of power/handling/feel. But I don't think any part of me will ever think these are pretty.

Suspect there's a small chance these might become like bug-eye imprezas - respected not in spite of how ugly they are but BECAUSE of how ugly they are.

I also despised the front until I saw a black one in my rear view mirror, very aggressive looking and not as ugly as the pics suggest!
Only issue is when you add a number plate to the front LOL

Will wait till they come down to around R1.2bar..so maybe 2025? These prices are wild. We pay around 20% more than what the Europeans pay..all things being equal

Definitely the best M3 I’ve driven - IMO the ZF8 Box makes all the difference compared to F8X DCT.Smooth power delivery- Great car !
