Driving with failing PCV valve

Morning gents. When I got to work this morning it became apparent that my pcv valve on my e92 325i has gone. Loud whistling, rough idle and sucking on the oil cap. I work in the CBD and live in Paarl and my technician is ready to assist today, but that means driving the car back to Paarl like this. Is it safe to embark on the 60km journey at lower speeds (say 80kph)? Mech said it will be fine and just drink more oil, but I'm going to do an oil service now anyway with the valve cover having to be replaced.

Would appreciate your advice. Really not keen to take it to BMW here or at Century City as the logistics and costs will just be a nightmare.

You should be fine. Just keep the Rpms low and steady and monitor your Exhaust. you probably gona see smoke out but you need to just look at volumn. just need to make sure its not getting worse than what it already is.

Yeah just avoid high rpms, thats where the ECU will be unable to pre-detect a knock when the whistling happens. Not to say a knock will happen, just that the ECU will have 0% chance to avoid it with the leak at high rpm.
