Hi Guys,

Feedback as requested, so maybe its my mind playing tricks, but on Saturday as I drove to Keithan to do the software my consumption def dropped, I touched 5.8L / 100Km on the highway, I must say very impressed with the DP,

Quick question, when all you guys say straight pipe or remove the back box, is that on the standard exhaust, I got a quote from Power flow for R3500 to run a 76mm straight pipe, I was told to do a 63mm straight pipe, sure the price will decrease, was looking more on the current set up if I should just remove the back box on the current set up which I believe is a 53 or 57 mm,

Thanks for all the feedback,

Now onto the software, Please note that I did have software on my 320D so I kinda know how crazy a car gets after software on the Diesels,

However this shit is crazy on another level, What I loved about RK Motion is that the torque isn't only on low revs, you see these stupid dyno sheets with ridiculous torque on 1.5 to 2.5 revs and then it drops steep, I seen Sash dyno sheet and that convinced me, Keithan keeps his torque to a much higher rev thus it keeps pulling hard not only on take off, Keithan software is a demon, So much so that even thou with my 320D I had software I could still easily drive it to 260km, with this 330D I never took it past 230km yet, there isn't enough road and I have to brake much harder to stop the car,

I am a little sad thou, cause I was so impressed with Sash software that I was expecting the same result, only to find out Sash has the LCI engine and I have the pre lci, so I wont get as much torque and KW as him, but I am still enjoying the drive, and Keithan opened the vanes on the car, so there is a nice tone on idle and take off,

I want to also add that keithan knows his shit hey, not just about software but about cars in general, gave me soooo much ideas, I will be changing the brake fluid on my car to dot 5.1 soon, Also gave a me small hint on a quick detail kit from builders, also the Velcro idea for my number plate,

Sadly my car has a boost leak, so I am not feeling the full potential yet, I will be sorting that out soon, also another issue which I will update on my other thread so everyone knows,

All in all I am happy and sad lol, Happy that I got everything done, thanks Sash again for motivating me, Sad that I got a boost leak, and that I cant get what I was hoping,

I am going back again to Keithan to do a gearbox flash, although with just the software and DP there is little to none turbo lag, torque is holding nice,

my true test is when I race my brother in laws ST,

I will update more as I drive the car, it is parked at home on week days so will only enjoy it on weekends,

Thanks Again Keithan, was lovely meeting you and spending time at your place, you have an awesome house btw,

guys please reply to my exhaust question,

thank you

Awesome stuff Cliff, first off, we have the same M57 engine bud, BMW detune them to 160kw in SA. According to build sheets its 173kw engine.

You should get the exhaust place to measure the inner diameter of the stock exhaust because i was also told my car had a certain size and I can a size bigger, but when they removed the stock exhaust it was found to be bigger than what i was told, so I still went one size bigger than stock. Personally, for now, just remove the back box, put a nice tail piece and leave everything else stock.

I dont see any reason why you would make any less power than me. If any my exhaust setup might have cost me a few NM, but I'm ok with that.

Is it a boost leak for Intercooler leak, oil on cooler or around pipes?

The car will still adapt to the new map so its going to get stronger as well and the open vanes are just something else... waiting to get mine done.

I am going to dyno this Thursday, will know after that,

honestly I don't know where the boost leak is, Keithan told me I have a boost leak, I trust that guy hey, he does know his stuff,

thanks will remove the back box and leave the pipe stock for now, will ask them when they remove the box to check the size of the pipe.

I pray I can get close to your figures Sash, I really pray

easiest way is to check for oil seepage on the boost pipes and intercooler. Check the amount of oil on my cooler prior to replacement

Sash, what difference does opening the vanes make to performance? Doesn’t it make the car more laggy?

I’m not sure if mine is open or closed after Keithan did the map..:skit:

No Performance increase with the Vanes open - not done on your Ferdi...

Gives the car a deeper tone at idle, and it starts to close as revs pick up. I guess it would depend on what rev the map starts to close it, sure Mr K has played enough with the settings to minimise or eliminate lag.

Lol, what’s the difference then? It probably sounds mental..

The Last time I cleaned the cooler it was clean, I have some sweat around the cooler pipes so assume it will be from there,

Cool man! Probably won’t make a massive difference on car due to the stock pipe.

Hi guys

some feedback on the dyno,

1st run - 188kw with 561NM
2nd run 172 Kw with 480NM

I don't have a picture of the graph, but it was a nice straight line, no spikes etc,
