Door Speakers in E46 318i not working

Hi guys,

The mid-range (front) door speakers are not working, though the tweeters and the backboard mid speakers are working just fine. I didn't want to even attempt to remove the door panel because I'm worried about the airbag etc. and removing the speaker cover only showed me unreachable screws(need to remove door panel). Any tips on what I should do eg. fuses etc. ?

Thanks

There is nothing to fear, the airbag itself remains behind on the door. Just the cover is on the doorpad itself.. There is no connection/disconnection to be done w.r.t the airbag. Just be weary when removing the doorpad, its abit of a headache to line up properly again if plastic guide pieces or clips break.

I haven't opened the door panel yet, but I checked fuses and they're all fine, however after replacing all the fuses my cruise control light stays on permanently when the ignition is 'on'...won't go off even after pressing the cruise control power button for a few seconds...installing after-market speakers this weekend so I'll ask the fitter to check the front door speakers...could it be a problem with the factory deck? (Also need help with cruise control light)...

I have opened the front panels many times and the airbag is secure on the door.
Are both mids or just 1 not working? Maybe , you can take this time to upgrade the front splits on the car . They would make a huge difference in sound quality.

Both mids don't work, the tweeters work though...
