Im planning on changing the Tweeters on my car, but im not sure on how to remove the door panel, and i dont want to chance doing something stupid because it has an airbag on the panel.
Does anyone know how to remove the panel without damaging anything??
FIRST: Disconnect the battery! (only the negative pole will do)
The A-pillar inner cover has a little insert that you pry out to reveal 3 or 4 torx screws. But you won't need to take this out to get to the tweeter though.
Rest is simple. For the door panel, you have to unscrew the door handle (3 torx screws) and the door opener (one screw), remove the trim (plastic prybar and it clips out), then unclip the door card, same as every other car.
Stick your fingers between the door metal and the card and you will quickly figure out where the studs are. Pull nicely all round to loosen the card.
Then LIFT the door card over the door lock. Don't pull away as yet since the door handle opener is still attached via a cable that also clips out by a little white plug.
The tweeter housing is part of the whole window trim and be careful not to break the whole thing. Lift it away and you should be able to access the tweeter.
NOt sure yet, going to check what size they are and work from there, thing is, they f*#ked already so i might as well disconnect them so i can still use my other front speakers, at the moment, i only have my rear speakers active
