Have to agree with Chef here, last real BMW's IMO were the E46's and E39's :thumbs:

Have to agree with E46 and E39 being the last of the good BMW's, problem is they are getting virtually impossible to find for sale in good condition with decent mileage, and especially with a proper manual gearbox!
For those with electronic dipsticks, best thing to do is measure the amount of oil drained to verify what the oil level sensor is "telling" you...

Just my few cents here...... The ZF boxes that came with the M54's (320i, 325i, 330i, 525i, 530i, 540i) were excellent :thumbs:

Yes the E46 and E39 were great! But remember their time is passing on now. I had an e46 325i manual then an e90 325i auto and now an F30 320d auto
Yes the e46 and e39 were solid cars and reliable. The e90 was not so good and I am dissapointed in them. But you fellow fanatics that are still praising them HAVE YOU DRIVEN AN F30 auto before :tease: . Just ask those who have an F30. The power is awsome the gearbox is unlike anything you know(magic) and roed holding is way better than an e46 or e39. Atleast I can say this from experiance.
