Hopefully we come to a decent agreement though first prize is getting my car sorted as I doubt they will just do a swap for the 335 also a bit heavy on juice haha and I like my manual.

Heres a little free advice.

Dont take the 335i, even though it kicks like van damme.
Those pool cars depreciate terribly and are abused, by people like you and I, when we are shafted by BMW.

Also, whatever you do, dont let off the pedal so to speak. They will give you another car, then take a few months to sort the shit out, for a full month, nobody may even touch your car. this is what happens, it gets parked somewhere.

Push for a replacement vehicle, threaten legal action, CPA etc.
If you come across to them, like they bought your silence with an abused 335i, they will treat you accordingly.

Lol I have already asked for ETA as to when I will be back in my vehicle.

Here is the response I got:

I trust this e-mail finds you well and hoping you are enjoying your loan vehicle.

I will confirm the way forward in terms of all the repairs that will be done on your vehicle before COB today. Our technical team will confirm everything that they have found to me and such will therefore be communicated to you. I will also request for your vehicle to be evaluated by Auto Bavaria Midrand and check for possible options (subject to your approval) to get into a 2014 3-series as discussed.

Kind regards

My response was first prize would be, my car getting 100% sorted why must I fork out more money and buy another car when issues are their fault for selling a defective product

100%, excellent customer service, would mean, they assess the car, realize its a dud, take it back, give you a new one, swallow any difference, and give you something for all your troubles, like an invite to a golf day or something.

But we all know that's not going to happen, what they are going to do is take about a full month to repair all the issues.

Be sure of 1 thing, once the engine has been replaced, the car is just never the same. There is something to be said about factory installation of a motor from stock.

There will be rattles, seals that don't fully seal, oil and grease inside places there shouldn't be oil and grease. you get the idea.

Tell them the whole bloody affair has left a very sour taste in your mind and even though you like the car, you feel the way you have been treated doesn't show the company or brand values you as a customer, and you would actually prefer your money back and will go buy an audi, that they are giving you an excellent deal on (lets face it, audis are shit compared to BMWs (thats my opinion)).

Show them, that you will talk with your feet and not just lip service.
This is manipulative shit, get them to suggest giving you a new car (make them think its entirely their idea), and then reluctantly accept it, after thinking about it for a few days, which makes it appear, like you are indifferent, you WOULD actually take the money and go buy an Audi.

Lol you got me pumped up just sent another email letting them have a piece of my mind. Some how I think if I ask for a refund they will give me book value and I lose as the car is two years old. The repair is being done at BMW SA in Midrand seem like their senior technician is diagnosing the car. They told me that they will do a complete engine replacement as they don't want to replace component by component. I am stuck now if I take retail if they give this option I am screwed lol I am thinking of negotiating rather on another vehicle.

Do your sums very carefully, and calculate 1st prize, 2nd prize and possibly even a 3rd prize option.
Be prepared for whatever bullshit story they come up with.
Your options must be beneficial to you, and marginally beneficial for BMW.
You must score in the options, and if you dont create options, they will propose something that seems acceptable to you, but they score overall. Be mindful of that.

These okes are sharks, trust me.

Lol the 335i was looking appealing until you made me wise, but it might still be an option as the car was picked up from Rosslyn plant yesterday. It has 4700 kms on the clock. It is fully loaded rear camera what what. Guy said I can even have my 19 Inch rims from my car as this one has 18s.

Cons

It is Auto, I prefer manual just wired that way.
Colour is Charcoal not SA friendly with stone chips.

seen a couple of registered phones on bluetooth setup so few people have driven it.

Eish other option have my car fixed, I thought engine was 100% percent except for a slight noise when cold thought is was a loos manifold or something now they say new engine replacement as they don't want to tinker. So you are saying BMW SA not dealer mechs are justa s useless and will get it wrong fitting a complete new engine.

Option3 if they go for it doubt it as I tried getting my money back when car had less than 400kms on two years back and I was told by the regional manager of BMW that is why you have warranty and motorplan.

All I can say is that I have wasted my time complaining my complains fell on deaf ears. They will repair my vehicle not sure how the engine swap is going to work will they sort out at licensing department? In the mean time I have tweeted John Robbie of Talk 702 and have written to News24 if they would like to cover the story

It may not be the same when you get it back.
You MAY, thats a big MAY have to get rid of it, because it MAY give you endless niggles.

On the optimistic side, it MAY be sorted 100% and in few months this will be a distant memory inshallah.

Ya I know you did say before hence me trying to get my money or a replacement vehicle. In my latest plea I am willing to settle on a car which has same features as mine with same or lesser mileage, they tried cornering me to agree to their terms. I asked for guarantees and someone senior to put his cock on the block if it goes sideways. Allah is testing me as I have to deal with a bust fridge and a cracked window and my body corporate are beyond useless.

I hear you but it won't make financial sense because I will get very little for it as it is now two years old. What will I be able to buy with the money I get in terms of a new vehicle with similar power, features and looks.

Whats wrong with your fridge?

The cracked window, take the measurements to builders, have them cut to size.
Use screwdriver, remove old putty, then use putty knife and window putty and install new window.

I'm planning on trading in early next year, when I come back from leave.

Anyway need more space. So either a new Sorento/Santa Fe/Pathfinder or Fortuner

Good luck just a caution they like hijacking Fortuners though they are nice cars. Maybe I will get a Hilux again. I will play it out and if I am not happy with repairs I think I will buy a cheapy run around till I can make up my mind.
