At the base of the distributor, the top is clean.
I changed the 'o' ring hooked eveything up and then washed the engine. After travelling about 120km's I noticed the leak at the bottom.

While discussing oil leaks, I realised that my e34 535iA 91 model leaks oil, I'm not too sure about where it comes fromas I was topld that it's the tuppet gasket cover, but it looks as if it comes from the front of the engine, any help or idea how to solve this, I don't wanna buy the tuppet cover gasket and then surprisingly seeing another oil leak. Which common oil leaks are on the m30 engines, thanks

Wash the engine then drive the car till the engines warm.. Take it from there, use a mirror for hard to reach areas.

with some advise from WerriesM5, I will be getting a complete gasket set from Victor Reinz (OEM) for my M60 for under 2k. - Alert Engine spares are agents. Google Victor Reinz and see what you find.

This means that I will do every seal on the engine. Yes I am going to pull the motor to do this, but she will be leak free.

Its not always that easy to clean a motor that has been leaking oil for a long time, particularly in those hard to reach places. Its easier with an I6 as apposed to a V motor, but its still fscking painful...

THANKS GUYS, WILL DO THAT ASAP.
AS I'M IN PTA I'LL BUY THE SEALS FROM ENGINE ALERT ALSO, BEMOW IS LIL EXPENSIVE WITH PRICES
AS I'LL ALSO BE SERVICING THE CAR, WHICH OIL DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR A 20YEARS OLD ENGINE WITH 277XXXKM
(THIS IS OUT OF THE TOPIC BUT IT SEEMS YOU GUYS HAVE THE OLDER CARS AS MINE) SORRY TO BE AN A$$.
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR EFFORTS
