Difference Bet 335i and an M3

So i take in my 335i for a service today (they just changed break fluid..:mmm, anyway my sales guys spots me and asks if i wana test drive an M... now this is my first time driving an M, brand new with just 1140km on clock, yello, individual and...............DCT!! naturally i jumped at it and im now..... in love!!!

Faarrrrkkk..... the sound!! throttle blips when you downchange, the gear changes are so fast its unbelievable!! and all the attention u can get especially if you driving through Sandton Central in peak traffic!!!! :thumbsup:

The performance is fantastic, find some open road punch it to 8000+ rpm, hit the right pedal to upshift.... wow! i think the 335i is def on par or faster up here at altitude, but the M just stirs your senses and makes you feel like a racer!!!

Definitely my next car....:thumbsup:

except i craved the 6 speed manual .
after the exhasut the m has gone to a new level of fun

I agree, haven't driven the M3, let alone with the DCT...

That yellow one was probably an M3 Edition. Special interior and I thinks it's slightly lower than the stock M3. Looks amazing in yellow! :excited: Must be seen in the metal!

M cars are always something special. They never have been much faster in a straight line than other BMWs, but thats not why they are special.

Forgive my noob comment (I haven't driven anything that fast... ever...), but I find it hard to believe that the M3 is slower at reef. Off the line maybe, but once the engine is on the boil I can't see how 'n (stock) 335i could keep up with the m3. I can't go into the nice forums (tlgp) yet 'cause I don't have enough posts but maybe someone can verify my feeling...

Hard to say.. whilst the M3 sounds/feels very fast, the 335 doest it effortlessly... whould have to put them side by side to say... if i used my car as a comparison to the M3 i drove... i would say 335i FTW on straight line at altitude..

@anile8-zn: Thanx...makes sense... if both drivers extract the max from their cars the m3 should win (most of the time).

@Dmonic1: ROFL, I have read alot of comments about the 320d being faster with sw... but Ill just have to rack up the posts to get access to the tlgp and read the comments there. But in stock form I think the 320d is sloooowwww off the line... Probably torque limiting in 1st and 2nd gear :cursin:
